NewAir AC-14100H Ultra Versatile 14,000 BTU – What You Need to Know
NewAir has recently released a new line of portable air conditioning products. Not only have they upgraded their look, but their performance has improved as well. Now a while back we did a review on the NewAir AC12000E. That unit didn’t have a heater and only had 12,000 BTU’s of power. The AC-14100H is a slightly bigger machine which includes a heater and is a little more powerful running at 14,000 BTU’s. NewAir is one of the most purchased portable AC brands online and they make very excellent products. Although, I’m still not a fan of their expensive price tags on single hose units.
NewAir AC-14100H Ultra Versatile 14,000 BTU – What is it?
Similar to their past AC models, the AC-14100H uses R-410A refrigerant and uses no CFCs to help keep your environment safe and clear of toxins. This 4 in 1 machine works as an AC, a heater, a dehumidifier (2.96 pints/h), and a fan (3 speeds). At 14,000 BTU’s, this unit will cool any medium to large size room up to 500 ft.².
This single hose machine also comes with a remote control, 24-hour timer and also has an interesting feature that helps to automatically control the temperature within your room. Lastly, this machine also has an auto-evaporative system that actually recycles the condensation to help cool your room more efficiently.
NewAir AC-14100H Ultra Versatile 14,000 BTU – What I liked?
One thing I really liked about the NewAir AC-14100H was it’s evaporative technology system. Since it reuses the condensation generated from cooling it actually doesn’t need to be drained as often. This is a really good feature especially if you live in a very humid environment. Besides that, I really liked how well it cooled my room. In comparison to its older model it did just as good of a job and maybe even better. Over the course of four days it was able to keep our room at an average temperature of 74°F (23 °C) from 82°F (28 °C) of heat.
NewAir AC-14100H Ultra Versatile 14,000 BTU – What I didn’t like?
One thing I didn’t like about the AC-14100H was its price. I know it’s a new machine, but I still find it hard to justify spending $500 on a single hose unit. Another thing I didn’t like was the control system located on the unit. I actually liked display and layout a little bit better on the older NewAir AC12000E model instead.
NewAir AC-14100H Ultra Versatile 14,000 BTU – Overall thoughts
In the end, the AC-14100H is a really good machine all around and should have no problem keeping most medium to large sized rooms consistently cool. It may be a little pricier considering it’s only a single hose unit, although it does include a heater and is one of the more reputable portable AC brands available on the market.
